What are Annual/Monthly Plans?

We now offer flexible annual/monthly plans so you can use Clip Studio Paint on your preferred devices.

We offer both monthly and annual payment plans. An annual payment plan can save you up to 51% compared to a monthly payment plan.

You will need to register for a Clip Studio account. Registration is free.
Anyone with a Clip Studio account, regardless of plan type, gets 10 GB of cloud storage. Use it to store your materials and artwork.

- How to purchase an annual/monthly plan

Clip Studio DEBUT

Enter your activation code to use the app for free
The activation code you enter will determine your plan's expiration date and the number of devices you can use the app on.
You can extend the expiration date by entering a valid activation code. However, please note that no other changes can be made to your plan.
Your plan will be automatically canceled when the expiration date is reached.
The number of devices you can have on your plan is the same as for Clip Studio Paint PRO and EX.
If you have an activation code for a Clip Studio Paint DEBUT perpetual license, you can sign up for EX or PRO at a discounted price. For more details, please see here.

About activation codes

Activation Code Usage

With an annual/monthly plan you can use an activation code to pay for a new or existing plan without having to register a credit card.

Activation codes cannot be used when ordering annual/monthly plans from stores other than the Clip Studio Store (https://ec.clip-studio.com/), including the Apple App Store, the Galaxy Store, and the Google Play Store. Activation codes are available for purchase on the EC website, at retail outlets, and by other methods.

What is the perpetual version?

Use all the features in the version purchased forever, only on Windows and macOS.
This plan is only for Windows/macOS
Pay once and have it forever.
Get the Update Pass with this version to use all the latest features, even past the version you bought for your perpetual license.

Using a plan
1. Go to My Plans and choose “Latest update” from your current license.
2. Select the plan that fits you and follow the instructions for signing up in “See details” to purchase the plan.
3. Once you have signed up for it, launch Clip Studio Paint Ver. 2 or above on your preferred device and select or enter your license or activation code.

After buying the Perpetual Version (One-time purchase), you can buy the Update Pass as an add-on to use all the latest features of the app for one year

What is the Update Pass?

The Update Pass allows users of the perpetual license for Clip Studio Paint Ver. 1 and Ver. 2.0 to use all the latest features, as they come to the app
This plan is only for Windows/macOS
The Update Pass is automatically renewed every year
This allows you to use the latest features before the next perpetual version comes out

Using a plan
1. Go to My Plans and choose “Latest update” from your current license.
2. Select the plan that fits you and follow the instructions for signing up in “See details” to purchase the plan.
3. Once you have signed up for it, launch Clip Studio Paint Ver. 2 or above on your preferred device and select or enter your license or activation code.
Sign up when it’s convenient for you
When the Update Pass expires, you will no longer be able to use the latest version but may continue to use the last perpetual version you had.

- When purchasing from the App Store
  
  This can be changed from Clip Studio Paint’s P logo menu > Purchase app / Change grade or payment plan.

  Note: Depending on the nature of the plan change, the usage period of the new plan may differ.
  Also, if the price plan change results in a negative amount, then the negative amount will be granted as a free use period for the new plan.
  Please check all the details displayed carefully before requesting a plan change.
- When purchasing from the Galaxy Store
  
  From the Galaxy Store, follow the on-screen instructions to cancel your current plan.

- When purchasing from the Google Play Store
  
  From the Google Play Store, follow the on-screen instructions to cancel your current plan
  and sign up for a new plan.
- In other cases
  
  The following does not apply for the App Store, Galaxy Store, or Google Play Store. If you are signing up through one of these stores, please refer to the guide above.
  - You can change aspects of your current plan including the software grade from PRO to EX, the number of devices and your payment schedule from monthly to annually. If you are interested, please sign up through the Manage Monthly Plans screen.
  - You can start using your new plan immediately after the payment difference from the plan change has been paid for.
  - Once you have requested a plan change, you will not be able to request further changes to the same plan for 24 hours.
  - You cannot change your plan until the payment difference from the initial plan change has been paid for.
  - A difference in the payment amount may occur when requesting certain types of plan changes, such as increasing the number of devices, which will be charged at the time of plan change. The difference is calculated on a pro-rated basis per second, comparing the payment amount for the current plan with that of the new plan. Please see the following examples to help you understand how the differences are calculated.

    Difference calculation example 1:
    For example, let's say you sign up for a monthly PRO Single-device plan on April 1, with the 1st of the month as your regular payment date, but on April 5 you want to change to a monthly PRO Dual-device plan.
    
    In this case, your plan will immediately convert to the monthly PRO Dual-device plan on April 5, but you will be required to pay the difference in monthly payment amounts for the period between April 5 and 30 up front.

    Difference calculation example 2:
    For example, let's say you sign up for a monthly PRO Single-device plan on April 1, with the 1st of the month as your regular payment date, but on April 25 you want to change to a monthly PRO Dual-device plan.
    
    If the plan is changed within 25 days of the next regular payment date, then you will need to pay for the difference between plans calculated on a pro-rated basis per second and the first monthly payment of the new plan together.
    
    In this case, your plan will immediately convert to the monthly PRO Dual-device plan on April 25, and you will be required to pay the difference in monthly payment amounts as well as the first monthly payment (May 1 to May 31) of the new plan as well. Due to this, your next regular payment date will be on June 1.

  - If the payment amount decreases due to a plan change, then the difference between the amount paid before the change will be granted as a free use period. The final date for the allotted free use period will become the new regular payment date. Please refer to the following example for how the free use period is calculated and regular payment date changes.

    Free use period calculation example:
    For example, let's say you sign up for a monthly PRO Dual-device plan on April 1, with the 1st of the month as your regular payment date, but on April 8 you want to change to a monthly PRO Single-device plan.
    
    In this case, your plan change results in a negative amount, so 39 days will be granted to you as a free use period. Therefore, you will be able to use your PRO Single-device plan for free from April 8 to May 16 and you will be charged for your new plan on May 17.

Available devices

Change your device

If you subscribe to a single device plan, a dual device plan, or a premium plan, you can change the Windows/macOS/iPad/iPhone/Galaxy/Android/Chromebook device(s) you use Clip Studio Paint on to even after you have begun using it. There is an upper limit on the number of changes that can be made.

  1. Install the latest version of Clip Studio Paint

  2. 2-1. When changing to Windows
    
    Click the Help menu > Review/Change License > Deactivate and launch on this device
  3. 2-2. When changing to macOS
    
    Click the CLIP STUDIO PAINT menu > Review/Change License > Deactivate and launch on this device
  4. 2-3. When changing to iPad
    
    Select the P logo menu > Review/Change License > Deactivate and launch on this device
  5. 2-4. When changing to an iPhone, a Galaxy smartphone or an Android smartphone

    3. Select Review/Change License > Deactivate and launch on this device
  6. 2-5. When changing to a Galaxy tablet, Android tablet or a Chromebook

For Samsung Galaxy or Android users

A plan for your preferred tablet or smartphone.
If you want to use an external device with a pressure pen such as Wacom One in DeX mode, please register for a plan other than the Smartphone Plan.

Payment

When purchasing from the App Store
- You can use the payment method linked to your Apple ID for payment.
- For changes to payment methods, please see the App Store.
When purchasing from the Galaxy Store
- If you would like to change your payment method, please do so on the Galaxy Store.
When purchasing from the Google Play Store
- For changes to payment methods, please see the Google Play Store.
In other cases
- You can pay with a credit card, PayPal, or Gold.
- Please see the following page to see all purchase options.
  Note: Payment methods available differ between products.
- The credit card used for payment can be changed from the My Plans screen.
Your contract will be automatically renewed.
Payments are made on a fixed date according to your plan.
You can check your plan’s payment schedule and payment status from the My Plans screen.
No refunds or changes to the plan can be made once your order is complete.

Requesting Cancellation

When purchasing from the App Store
- Please cancel your plan from the App Store.
When purchasing from the Galaxy Store
- Please cancel your plan through the Galaxy Store.
When purchasing from the Google Play Store
- Please cancel your plan via the Google Play Store.
In other cases
- Your plan can be cancelled from the My Plans screen.
Plans cannot be immediately canceled. When you cancel a plan, the cancellation will occur from your next scheduled payment date.
You will be able to use Clip Studio Paint until your next scheduled payment/cancellation date.
Cancellation requests can be undone.
If your final payment is not made by the scheduled payment date due to insufficient balance or other reasons, your plan will be canceled.
